About Christie Chan

Before starting the Men’s Mental Health Institute I worked with young adults (11-20+ years of age at the time) of abusive and dysfunctional families. This is where I first handedly experienced the impact our childhood has on future life predictions. I noticed young men and women respond to trauma in different ways, but young men always showed more signs of potential psychosis because our health and social systems weren’t favorable in giving young men the support they need to work through the specific struggles men need to go through.

My Journey as a Therapist has given me the honor to be part of many people’s dysfunctional romantic stories, life-altering changes, decisions and new found purpose in themselves. This honor and responsibility is the driving force behind my mission in life. I aim to guide individuals to realize and reach their full potential by guiding them to be the leaders and experts of their own lives and relationships. I focus on solutions directly centered in each person’s subjective experience, culture, religion, ethnic background and worldviews; with the mission to enrich them with their own capability to form healthier and more secure bonds within their social, familial and romantic relationships.
