About Sarah Bonn

Hi everyone! My name is Sarah Bonn, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP). I completed my Honours Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, and I hold an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Psychology from McMaster University, along with a Graduate Certificate in Concurrent Disorders (Mental Health & Addictions) from Mohawk College. I have received additional training from various professional development agencies in trauma-informed care, mental health first aid, dialectical behaviour therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing techniques. I have worked in the mental health field for over eleven years, supporting adults of all ages through community treatment, social support, and multidisciplinary care. During my time working in the community, I felt a personal and professional shift to better support people with their solution and recovery-focused objectives. My goal with our clients is to understand, first and foremost, what they would like to gain from their therapeutic experience, both in-session and outside of our sessions together. I collaborate with each of my clients to create an individualized treatment plan by using an integrative mix of evidence-based psychotherapy modalities, including (but not limited to) narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and strength-based techniques. As an avid nature lover, I help men find strength and healing through grounding and connecting to their identity and landscape. Together, we will focus on respect and empathy as we deeply explore your unique journey and develop personalized tools to cope with your life’s stressors, both past and present. I welcome you to join me in a safe space to determine your intentional path forward. Let’s create the life you deserve! Outside of sessions, you can often find me in the woods, on a trail, or near a body of water. My eclectic style is not limited to my therapeutic approach, as I love anything active: running, biking, hiking, swimming, skiing, skating, yoga, camping… and the list goes on!
