Elena Temelkova, MA, CCC

About Me

I’m Elena a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with a deep passion for supporting men’s mental health. Growing up surrounded by incredible men including my dad, brother, grandpa, and friends, I witnessed firsthand how society often silences their pain and pressures them to “tough it out.”

My philosophy is simple: at any moment, you have the power to completely transform your life. You’re never truly stuck in one reality. I’ve worked alongside men to rebuild their faith in relationships, feel safe with vulnerability, break free from toxic dynamics, rediscover their self-worth, reconnect with and manage their emotions. I’ve also helped men heal from trauma, depression, anxiety, addiction, and burnout. Most powerfully, I’ve watched men look in the mirror with pride and finally feel at peace with who they are.

You are the expert of your life. My role is to walk beside you as you heal, grow, and step fully into the man you’re meant to be. I value accountability, being open to new perspectives and people who are ready and willing to put in the hard work.

I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (Yorkville University) and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Forensic Psychology (University of Toronto). I’m certified in Mental Health First Aid and Trauma Screening, trained in working with men who’ve experienced abuse, and currently completing my designation as a Certified Complex Trauma Professional (CCTP). I’m also a community, clinical and academic researcher! I love data, trends, patterns and evaluation and I find these analytical skills translate well in helping clients reach their goals.

In therapy, I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where nothing is off limits. My trauma- and culturally-informed approach blends Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Existentialism, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems to create meaningful, tailored change. However, therapy is a collaborative journey. We work together to figure out the best fit for you.

A bit more about me I’m a proud second-generation Macedonian, an avid traveler, and a lifelong creative. When I’m not in session, I’m often designing, filming, hosting community events, or working on my newest venture: opening a café! I’m currently learning Spanish and I dance salsa and traditional bachata for fun.

A Final Note
My life has taught me that healing is rarely a straight path; it’s a process of falling, learning, getting back up, and walking forward with new strength. Whether you are navigating relationship struggles, family challenges, or personal pain, you don’t have to face it alone. I would be honoured to walk with you. If you’re ready to begin the journey of growth and healing, I invite you to reach out for a consultation.

Specialties & Common Subjects

We do not bill insurance providers directly; however, we offer superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
Many of our clients have successfully received partial or full reimbursement depending on their individual insurance coverage. While eligibility varies, clients have reported success with a range of major providers across the U.S.
.
If you’d like to verify your benefits, we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly and asking:
“What is my out-of-network coverage for psychotherapy or counselling with a Canadian based registered psychotherapist?”
.
For reference, Elena Temelkova has compiled a list of insurance providers that have previously reimbursed clients:

Were these reimbursements for individual therapy, couples therapy, or both?
